On Thursday, February 9th we had a very successful scrimmage. The Central League is small, because we had only four team compete. However, I believe we had a quality showing by our kids. Great Job! A couple more weeks until state.

Tentative Schedule for Central League

Tuesday, Aug. 31 7pm Coaches meeting




Friday, Sept. 3 Official season kick-off - no local event but encourage your team members to check out the website that day.



Saturday, Sept 25 9am - 11am Team Rally - can include introduction of teams, teamwork challenge with prizes, US First Team quiz w/ prizes(just to see how familiar teams are with rules, lingo, related to this competition), mini sessions (1/2 hour) for parents, coaches, team members, team chant rally to close.



Thurs. Oct. 7 - Space Day Team Share (plus as a demo for public) Teams just show where they are thus far in field challenge. Stay for astronaut talk afterwards. (I'll try to get lego teams a private mtg with astronaut to discuss bioengineering and robotics related to space exploration.)



Thurs. Oct. 28 (9am - 10:30) Team Share - Teams show up - share whatever work they want feedback on - plus some experts give talks on bioengineering, mechanics or other.



Nov. 11 or 13 (no school on 11th) Field challenge and engineering scrimmage w/ prizes - Will be handled as much like the state tourney as possible. With speaker to speak while judging is tallied.



Nov. 20 Informal Scrimmage at Augustana College in Sioux Falls. Teams can participate or watch. Optional.



Dec. 9 or 11 Presentations Scrimmage with prizes. Some kind of pep rally for state tourney.



Christmas break - SD Discovery Center staff could offer sometime to to judge or support individual teams to shine up their presentations or other aspects of the competion on a by appointment basis.



January 15 - State Tournament, Sioux Falls. Central Baptist Church - all teams are welcome to compete. Highly encouraged. We have paid for your registration - this is the only formal competition available. Please plan to compete.
